INSTRUCTIONAL CLASSES
Machine Quilting ~ Irish Chain
Instructor: Lennie Bosman
Fridays: Aug. 22-Sept. 26 (6 weeks)
Time: 9 am-12 pm
Location: Valle Vista Community Center
The construction of a single or double Irish Chain Quilt from Quilt in a Day is a good beginners quilt. If you have always wanted to understand patchwork techniques, this is the class for you! You will learn all about quilt making including color coordination, fabric selection and preparation, accurate cutting, and precision piecing using an accurate ¼” seam allowance, pressing, borders, layering, pin basting and binding. Different quilting techniques will be demonstrated, including freemotion. Material list will handed out and discussed the first class meeting. Bring your sewing machine to class after the first meeting to sew and assemble the quilt in class. Book will be available in class for a fee of $12.00 (tax included).
Machine Quilting ~ Double Pinwheel

Fridays: Oct. 10-Nov. 21 (6 weeks) (no class Oct. 31)
The Double Pinwheel pattern from Quilt in a Day uses the quick and easy strip method using either two, three, or multi-color fabrics. You can choose to sew a wall hanging or various bed sizes all the way up to King size. Different quilting techniques will be demonstrated, including freemotion. Materials list will be discussed on the first day of class. You will need to bring your sewing machine to class after the first meeting. Book will be available in class for $14.00 (tax is included). Please register early class size is limited to 20 students.

Round Dancing
Instructor Shirley Ivins combines the grace of ballroom dancing with a caller. This class teaches two-step and waltz. Come on down and get into the rhythm. Register at class.

Panto-Rythmica (NEW CLASS!)
Looking for a fun way to exercise and tap into your creativity? Panto-Rythmica is for you! This program of exercises combines elements of mime movements, improvisation, dance and laughing yoga technique. Panto-Rythmica creates cardio-muscular toning and spontaneous self expression. This program is designed by Master Ognian Hristov with a strong European style in Pantomime and Movement. Come and explore this unique approach through fun, music and dance. No previous experience is necessary. Teens and adults are welcome. Special class for children is coming soon. Please register at class.

GYMNASTICS CLASSES
Kinder gym
This class is for three, four, and five year olds. It teaches children the beginning fundamentals of gymnastics. They will learn coordination and build strength and flexibility. Gymnastics equipment will be used such as: The balance beam, mini trampoline, vaulting box, and much more. Class begins Aug. 19th.

Beginning Gymnastics
Boys and girls age six and up will learn the basic fundamentals of floor gymnastics. Coordination skills, flexibility, and strength will be built. Basic tumbling will be taught such as: Cartwheels, backbends, front and back rolls, roundoffs, and front limbers. Class begins Aug.19th.

Advanced Gymnastics
This class takes the basics learned in beginning gymnastics and builds upon them. It teaches more advanced tumbling such as: One-handed cartwheels, front and backhand springs, roundoffs, toe touches, and much more. Class begins Aug.19th.

Yoga
Join a fast growing trend! Taught by long time valley instructor Sue Bouk, this class is the perfect break from your busy day and a great way to exercise with low impact. The class will feature over 1 hour of stretching and strengthening using classic yoga techniques. This class is designed for beginner to intermediate students. Please wear comfortable clothing and bring your towel or mat. Please register and pay at class.

Strength Balance & Flexibility
This class is designed to strengthen muscles for better joint support. Reduce osteoporosis & pain caused by arthritis. Restore balance & flexibility as well as improve posture. INFANT TODDLER CLASSES
MOM and ME
Everyone is Welcome! Moms, Dads, Grandparents, and Babysitters too! Bring your favorite kid(s) and come join us for songs, dances and fun! We will go out and play weather permitting and have a snack too! Free play from 10-10:30. This class is a recreational class designed for moms/caregivers and their young children to socialize with other moms/caregivers and their children.

Arts of Self Defense
Valley-Wide offers these popular self-defense classes for all ages from 5 up in the American- Polynesian martial art Limalama. Great for men, women, boys and girls, beautiful to watch with Polynesian hand and foot movements that are powerful, flowing, and fast. Learn technique, speed, flexibility, balance, power, timing, coordination, courage and self-discipline. This art will change the way you see yourself and others and help you in everyday life. The classes are ongoing and you may join at any time. You register and pay at class. Classes are also offered at Valley-Wide Recreation on Esplanade on different days. “Fear none. Respect all”.

American Kenpo Karate
