GRIFFITH OBSERVATORY
The Griffith Observatory is an icon of Los Angeles, a national leader in public
astronomy, a beloved civic gathering place, and one of southern
California’s most popular attractions. The Observatory is located on the
southern slope of Mount Hollywood in Griffith Park, just above the Los Felix
neighborhood. It is 1,134 feet above sea level and is visible from many
parts of the Los Angeles basin. Griffith Observatory was originally conceived
by some of the finest scientific minds of the 1930s and built with the
finest materials of the day. The City of Los Angeles and Friends of the
Observatory have been committed to that spirit of excellence in every aspect
of the renovation and expansion project. This has involved taking the time,
spending the money, and getting the people necessary to do the job right,
so that the result is something the people of Los Angeles can celebrate with
justified pride. Lunch will be on your own at The Café at the End of the
Universe, located at the Griffith Observatory.

GLORY OF EASTER AT THE CRYSTAL CATHEDRAL
The larges and most spectacular Passion play is brought to life through
exciting drama, song and pageantry. A cast of over 100 volunteer actors
are supported by professionals playing the lead roles of Jesus, Pilate, Mary
Magdalene, Herod, Mary and more. Together they recreate the story of
Passion Week including the triumphal entry into Jerusalem, Jesus cleansing
the temple, the Last Supper, the trial, crucifixion, resurrection and
ascension. Utilizing the latest in special effects, the Easter pageant is
famous for its lifelike recreation of earthquakes, thunder storms and lightening
inside the all-glass building. Flying angels soar overhead while live
animals parade down the aisles. The passion play is an exciting interpretation
of the week that changed the course of history forever. Come join

J. PAUL GETTY MUSEUM AT THE GETTY CENTER
The J. Paul Getty Museum is an operating program of the J. Paul Getty
Trust. The Museum’s goal is to make the collection meaningful and attractive
to a broad audience by presenting and interpreting the collection
through educational programs, special exhibitions, publications, conservation,
and research. The Getty Center presents the Getty’s collection of
Western art from the Middle Ages to the present against a backdrop of dramatic
architecture, tranquil gardens, and breathtaking views. The J. Paul
Getty Museum at the Getty Center in Los Angeles houses European paintings,
drawings, sculpture, illuminated manuscripts, decorative arts and

THE MUSEUM OF TOLERANCE IN LOS ANGELES
The Museum of Tolerance is the only facility of its kind in the world. The
Museum has served over 4-million visitors. The Museum of Tolerance
showcases unique and exciting interactive exhibits, special events, and youth and
adult education programs. These exhibits confront issues of prejudice and
discrimination, the legacy of the Holocaust and contemporary human rights
issues. “Finding Our Families, Finding Ourselves” showcases the diverse
personal histories of several noted Americans, including Dr. Maya Angelou,
Billy Crystal, Carlos Santana and Joe Torre. The exhibit celebrates experiences
common to being part of an American family and encourages visitors
to seek out their own histories, mentors and heroes. The Museum of
Tolerance honors the memory of countless millions whose lives have been
scarred by bigotry and to educate future generations to relate to all people
as individuals rather than racial categories. Your docent guided tour starts
at 9:00am and is 3-hours long. Lunch will be on your own at a nearby
food and restaurant area. This is one of the most memorable Museum’s
ever!

For ten weeks each spring, on coastal farmland in Carlsbad, Ca. 50-acres of
Giant Tecolote Ranunculus flowers bloom and transform the landscape into
a solid expanse of vibrant rainbow banded colors. The Flower Fields cover
a rolling hillside overlooking the Pacific Coast, and is located halfway
between Orange County and San Diego. As soon as you walk in the Flower
field’s entrance, a lavish display of colorful annuals and perennials,
Presented beautiful arrangements of color, the displays of spring flowers in
the quaint cottage garden, cutting garden, sun garden and shade garden
provide inspirational ideas for your garden at home. There are over 20
vendors of unique Orchids from around the world and thousands of plants
for sale. Challenge yourself with the one-of-a-kind “Sweet Pea Maze”
with walls of lush blooming sweet peas, as your finding your way out! In
addition to taking in all the floral beauty, you can take a ride on an openair
wagon, pulled by an antique tractor as it takes you through the fields,
to enjoy the brilliant rainbow colors of flowers. Lunch will be on you own,
there are places to eat at the Flower fields, or you can bring your own picnic

NIXON LIBRARY MUSEUM & KNOTTS BERRY CHICKEN

The Richard Nixon Library & Birthplace opened its door on July 19th 1990
with celebration, fanfare and more than 50,000 friends and well-wisher
including Presidents Nixon, Bush, Reagan and Ford and their First Ladies.
The institution dedicated to education the public about the life and times of
the 37th President and encouraging interest in history, government and
public affairs. The most active, innovative and visited Presidential center in
America, it and the Nixon Center in Washington, D.C. conduct a wide rang
of public affairs programming, ranging from Town Meetings and School
Editors Forums to annual National Policy Conferences and an impressive
roster of distinguished speaker. You will have the pleasure of viewing the
nine acre Library & Birthplace is a three-dimensional walk –through memoir
featuring a 52,000 square foot museum, 22 high-tech galleries, movie
and interactive video theater, the spectacular First Lady’s Garden, the
President’s faithfully restored 1910’s birthplace, and the flower-ringed
memorial sites of President and Mrs. Nixon. After the Nixon Library, you
will aboard the bus to Buena Park to Knott’s Berry Farm where you will be
hosted to an appetizing lunch at the Famous, Knott’s Chicken restaurant.
You will also have time to visit some of the many shops at Knott’s before
heading back home. Lunch is at 1:30pm.This is a highly requested trip, so
